ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) – Mahidol University

The ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) at Mahidol University was established to advance health development to benefits not only people in Thailand but also citizens of other ASEAN member countries using basic health principles. It was established in 1982 as part of the ASEAN Human Resource Development Project supported by the government of Japan and has three main tasks: education, research and academic services.

The AIHD has established a strong partnership and close coordination with various organizations in Thailand and abroad, to foster academic collaborations and generate funding to support and sustain its research projects, which are crucial to health development. This includes the development and launch of the Social Health Protection (SHP) special track of the Master of Primary Health Care Management (MPHM), with the International Labour Organization (ILO), and under CONNECT.
